Overview

Oracle is seeking a System Administrator 4-IT (Incident Management) to serve as Incident Commander in our Global Operations Center based in India. In this critical role, you will lead high-impact incident response efforts, coordinating global teams to minimize downtime and ensure rapid resolution of production issues. Join Oracle's innovative IT operations team to drive reliability and excellence in cloud infrastructure services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead incident command for major outages, following ITIL best practices to restore services swiftly.
  • Coordinate cross-functional global teams during high-severity incidents, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
  • Perform post-incident reviews (PIRs) to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
  • Monitor production systems using tools like Splunk, Grafana, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure dashboards.
  • Escalate issues to senior leadership and stakeholders, providing real-time updates and impact assessments.
  • Develop and maintain incident management playbooks and runbooks for Oracle's cloud platforms.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation to support global operations center requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve system reliability and reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field; advanced certifications preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations, incident management, or NOC/SOC environments.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL incident management processes and frameworks.
  • Proficiency with monitoring tools (Splunk, Prometheus) and cloud platforms (OCI, AWS).
  • Excellent communication skills for leading bridge calls and stakeholder updates under pressure.
  • Experience with scripting (Python, Bash) for automation and troubleshooting.
