Position Overview

Associate Technical Support Engineers at Oracle participate in an initial onboarding experience focused on building customer management skills, technical knowledge through training, development, and shadowing. This program develops well-rounded individuals by providing opportunities to enhance business acumen and technical skillsets while learning firsthand how to advocate for customers' technical needs and improve their businesses. Gain valuable experience across multiple business environments before transitioning into the Support Organization, based in Uruguay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in comprehensive onboarding training to build foundational technical knowledge in Oracle products and customer support processes.
  • Shadow experienced support engineers to observe real-time issue resolution and customer interactions.
  • Assist in triaging customer technical inquiries related to Oracle cloud services, databases, and applications.
  • Develop customer management skills by learning to document cases accurately in support tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to analyze and reproduce customer-reported issues.
  • Contribute to knowledge base articles and internal documentation based on learned resolutions.
  • Engage in cross-training sessions across various Oracle product lines to broaden technical exposure.
  • Provide initial support responses to customers under supervision, focusing on clear communication.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements during onboarding and share feedback with the team.
  • Build business acumen by understanding customer environments and advocating for their technical success.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technical concepts and tools.
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, networking, and software troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation and empathy in professional or academic settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with ticketing systems.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and participate in rotational shifts as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Oracle products, SQL, Java, or cloud computing platforms.
  • Previous internship or work experience in technical support or IT helpdesk roles.
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems or database administration basics.
  • Certification in relevant technologies such as Oracle Cloud, AWS, or CompTIA.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation tasks.
