Position Summary

Sonoco's Packer II role at our Hartselle, AL Plug Plant offers a rewarding opportunity on the Day Shift (6am-6pm) with a 2-2-3 schedule. Starting at $20.95/hour, this full-time position is ideal for reliable individuals with manufacturing experience who thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a Packer II, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our products are safely packaged and shipped, contributing to Sonoco's reputation for quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities

In this hands-on position, you'll:

• Wrap, protect, and pack machinery, equipment, or other items for shipment.
• Band, seal, glue, nail, label, and stencil crates and containers with precise identification.
• Weigh, transport, stack, or arrange products and packed containers efficiently.
• Perform all tasks in strict accordance with established safety procedures.
• Monitor product quality, reporting defects or malfunctions to supervisors promptly.
• Apply heat shrink materials to tubes, pipes, or other items to meet specifications.
• Assist with maintenance and repairs as needed to keep operations running smoothly.

Required Qualifications

To succeed as a Packer II at Sonoco:

• Previous manufacturing or packaging experience is preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and move quickly.
• Comfortable in a dynamic work environment with potential exposure to noise, vibration, heat, cold, chemicals, greases, and lubricants.
