Pacific Coast Post Acute (PCPA) is a short-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility located in beautiful Monterey County, just 30 minutes from the Monterey Bay. PCPA is a premier teaching facility for post-acute care, offering exposure to memory care and a growing outpatient program. Job Summary
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide high-quality occupational therapy services to residents. The COTA assists in implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, and helping residents improve their independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities
Implement and execute individualized treatment plans for residents under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
Provide skilled therapeutic interventions, including training in activities of daily living (ADLs), functional skills, and the use of adaptive equipment.
Help residents reach their maximum performance level and function within their capabilities.
Monitor and accurately document residents' progress and report any changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Instruct residents, their families, and nursing staff on maintenance programs for discharge.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment, including the large, on-site gym.
Perform all duties in compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
Qualifications
Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Valid Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license or certification.
