About Us

We are a welcoming assisted living community dedicated to providing nutritious, high-quality meals in a clean and supportive environment for our residents. We are currently seeking a dependable and team-oriented Dietary Aide to support our kitchen and dining services. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and contributing to resident comfort and well-being.



Position Summary

The Dietary Aide supports the kitchen and dietary team by assisting with meal service, dishwashing, sanitation, and general kitchen operations. This position reports to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor and plays an important role in ensuring meals are served safely, efficiently, and with care.



Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with setting up meal trays and serving meals to residents.

  • Strip returned trays and operate the dishwashing machine.

  • Monitor and record dishwasher water temperature and chlorine concentration at the start of each shift.

  • Observe dishwasher temperatures during cycles to ensure proper sanitation.

  • Prepare snacks and nourishments as directed.

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen work areas, refrigerators, and equipment.

  • Sweep, mop, and maintain kitchen and dining area floors.

  • Dispose of trash and garbage properly.

  • Store groceries in a safe, clean, and organized manner.

  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen environment.

  • Assist the Cook or Dietary Supervisor as needed during the shift.

  • Participate in orientation and ongoing dietary staff training.

  • Work cooperatively with staff from all departments.



Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Ability to learn food service routines quickly.

  • Ability to read and follow recipes and technical procedures.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Basic math skills (fractions, ratios, measurements).

  • Must obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler’s Card.



Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.

  • Frequent reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending.

  • Occasional climbing, kneeling, stooping, or crouching.

  • Ability to see clearly, adjust focus, and use depth perception.



Work Environment
  • Kitchen and dining service environment.

  • Noise level is typically low to moderate.

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
