Director of Staff Development (DSD) – LVN
Bakersfield Post Acute – Bakersfield, CA
Starting Salary: $80,000+ annually (based on experience)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Staff Development (DSD) to lead our education and training efforts. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), the DSD plays a vital role in ensuring our staff are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and support needed to deliver the highest quality care to our residents.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and oversee all staff education and in-service training programs

  • Coordinate new employee orientation and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements

  • Maintain accurate records of employee education, certifications, and training hours

  • Evaluate staff competency and provide ongoing education to support professional development

  • Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and implement solutions

  • Ensure infection prevention and safety protocols are included in training programs

  • Promote a culture of learning, teamwork, and excellence in resident care



Qualifications:
  • Current and valid LVN license in the State of California

  • Must hold Director of Staff Development certification (or ability to obtain)

  • Previous experience in staff development, education, or training in a healthcare/SNF setting preferred

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to lead with professionalism, compassion, and enthusiasm
