Job Opening: Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)

Location:

Pleasant Hill Post Acute
Address: Conveniently located off of Pleasant Valley Drive and Via Del Sol, Pleasant Hill, California

Position Type:

  • Employment: PRN (as needed)

  • Rate: Starting at $48 + (DOE)

Job Description:

  • Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist.

  • Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per Occupational Therapy Board requirements.

  • Implement treatment plans per the physician's orders.

  • Assist the nursing department with training of Restorative Aides.

  • Communicate with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans.

  • Participate in in-service training programs for other staff in the facility.

  • Record evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and recertification documentation per the Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and governmental and third-party payer requirements.

  • Document treatment changes according to policies and procedures.

  • Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services.

  • Participate in discharge planning efforts.

  • Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area.

  • Report any issues with department equipment to ensure it is maintained in good working order.

  • Establish positive, effective relationships with patients/residents, families, staff, and professional colleagues.

Required License or Certification

  • Valid Occupational Therapist Assistant License

Responsibilities
