Job Opening: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Job Responsibilities:
Provide patient care as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
Maintain accurate records of daily treatment notes and weekly progress updates in accordance with Occupational Therapy Board regulations.
Implement treatments based on the physician's prescribed plan.
Assist the nursing department in training Restorative Aides.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and the healthcare team regarding patient progress, challenges, and plans.
Participate in in-service training programs for facility staff.
Document evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress reports, and recertification records in compliance with the Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and requirements from governmental and third-party payers.
Record any treatment changes according to established policies and procedures.
Educate patients’ families or nursing staff on maintenance programs and provide caregiver training in preparation for discharge.
Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area.
Report any issues with departmental equipment to ensure it remains in good working order.
Build positive, effective, and appropriate relationships with patients, families, staff, and professional colleagues.
Required License or Certification:
Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant License
