Job Opening: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Location:

Hayward Gardens Post Acute, Hayward, California

Position Type:

  • Full-Time

  • Part-Time

  • PRN Positions Available

Starting Rate:

  • $48 per hour

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient care as directed by the Occupational Therapist.

  • Maintain accurate records of daily treatment notes and weekly progress updates in accordance with Occupational Therapy Board regulations.

  • Implement treatments based on the physician's prescribed plan.

  • Assist the nursing department in training Restorative Aides.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and the healthcare team regarding patient progress, challenges, and plans.

  • Participate in in-service training programs for facility staff.

  • Document evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress reports, and recertification records in compliance with the Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and requirements from governmental and third-party payers.

  • Record any treatment changes according to established policies and procedures.

  • Educate patients’ families or nursing staff on maintenance programs and provide caregiver training in preparation for discharge.

  • Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area.

  • Report any issues with departmental equipment to ensure it remains in good working order.

  • Build positive, effective, and appropriate relationships with patients, families, staff, and professional colleagues.

Required License or Certification:

  • Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant License
