Job Requirements:

As a Respiratory Therapist, your responsibilities will include:

• Restoring patients' pulmonary function, alleviating pain, and supporting life by planning and administering medically prescribed respiratory therapy.

• Meeting patients’ goals and needs by conducting pulmonary function tests, assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results, and determining treatment plans in consultation with physicians.

• Administering inhalants, operating mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.

• Performing bronchopulmonary drainage, assisting with breathing exercises, and monitoring physiological responses to therapy, including vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes.

• Directing treatments performed by aides, technicians, and assistants.

• Evaluating the effects of respiratory therapy by observing, noting, and evaluating patient progress and recommending necessary adjustments.
