Pacific Coast Post Acute (PCPA) is a leading short-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility located in beautiful Monterey County, just 30 minutes from the stunning Monterey Bay. As a premier teaching facility for post-acute care, PCPA offers a dynamic environment with exposure to memory care and a growing outpatient program. Our facility features one of the largest gyms in a post-acute setting, including a dedicated Activities of Daily Living (ADL) area with a functional kitchen, washer/dryer, and tub/shower combination. Job Summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will be a key member of our rehabilitation team, responsible for providing comprehensive speech and language services to residents. The SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, playing a crucial role in improving the quality of life for our residents by helping them regain their independence and communicative abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to identify speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on resident needs and goals.

  • Provide skilled therapeutic interventions for speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.

  • Manage and treat dysphagia (swallowing disorders), including providing appropriate therapy and recommending diet modifications.

  • Document resident progress accurately and in a timely manner, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team.

  • Educate residents, families, and staff on communication strategies and compensatory techniques.

  • Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.

  • Participate in program development and departmental meetings.
