Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will involve high-impact tasks driving PagerDuty's data reliability:

• Partner with Engineering stakeholders to design reliable, scalable, secure, and performant data platforms using AWS and Kubernetes.
• Develop standards and practices for back-end data storage systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Cassandra.
• Build intuitive tools for engineers to interact with and optimize database systems seamlessly.
• Provide full lifecycle support: from database creation and development to deployment and retirement.
• Enhance observability, monitoring, and flexible connectivity to boost customer experience.
• Leverage Kafka and tools like ZooKeeper, Kafka Connect, and Streams for robust data streaming.
• Stay current on trends to innovate tools solving complex data challenges.
• Share expertise organization-wide through knowledge sessions and documentation.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations, managed via PagerDuty itself.
• Automate releases and CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or CircleCI for peak performance.
• Scale PagerDuty's platform amid explosive growth in digital operations.
• Implement IaC with Terraform for efficient cloud resource management.
• Monitor databases using DataDog, Grafana, or New Relic for proactive issue resolution.

Qualifications
