Role Overview

PagerDuty, Inc. (NYSE: PD), a global leader in digital operations management trusted by nearly half of the Fortune 500, is seeking a Sr. Manager, People Applications (HRIS) to lead our Workday strategy and operations in Atlanta, GA. This critical leadership role owns the vision, roadmap, and operational excellence of our Workday platform across Human Capital Management (HCM) and adjacent modules.

In this cross-functional position, you'll build and lead a high-performing team of Business Analysts and Integration Analysts while partnering with People Operations, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Payroll, Finance, IT, and Legal. As PagerDuty continues its rapid growth, you'll drive scalable Workday solutions that enable data-driven business decisions and exceptional employee experiences.

This hybrid role requires 2+ days per week in our Atlanta office, embracing PagerDuty's collaborative culture where you'll tackle complex challenges with ambitious, kind colleagues while contributing to a more equitable world.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Roadmap Ownership: Set Workday product vision and multi-quarter roadmap, aligning technology with People and business objectives. Oversee end-to-end delivery from requirements through post-launch support.
  2. Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and develop high-performing Business Analyst and Integration Analyst teams. Establish working norms, documentation standards, and knowledge management practices.
  3. Workday Configuration: Lead hands-on configuration of core HCM and modules including Advanced Compensation, Absence, Talent, Time Tracking, Payroll, and Benefits using business process framework, calculated fields, EIB, and reporting.
  4. Governance & Change Management: Own Workday change intake, prioritization, release management, design reviews, testing, and production cutovers. Serve as senior SME for features and releases.
  5. Security & Compliance: Manage security model and access controls, partnering on SOX, GDPR, and privacy requirements. Maintain comprehensive documentation for all configurations and integrations.
  6. Integrations Leadership: Direct integrations portfolio with internal/external systems, overseeing architecture, monitoring, error handling, and vendor relationships.
  7. Data Excellence: Drive data quality, reconciliation, and master-data stewardship. Define and monitor SLAs for issue resolution and system health.

Qualifications

What You'll Need:

  • 10+ years progressive HRIS experience, 5+ years Workday leadership
  • Deep Workday expertise across HCM modules and integrations
  • Proven team leadership in HR technology environments
  • Hands-on configuration skills (business processes, calculated fields, EIB)
  • Security model and compliance experience (SOX, GDPR)
  • Strong project management and stakeholder collaboration skills
  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred); Workday Pro certifications
