Role Overview

PagerDuty (NYSE: PD), trusted by nearly half of Fortune 500 and two-thirds of Fortune 100, needs a strategic HRIS leader for their Toronto team. You'll drive Workday strategy across HCM modules while building a high-performing analyst team. This hybrid role requires 2+ days weekly in our Toronto office to foster collaboration and innovation.

Key focus areas include roadmap development, system optimization, integrations, data governance, and cross-functional partnerships with People Ops, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Payroll, Finance, IT, and Legal. Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Roadmap Ownership: Set Workday vision and multi-quarter roadmap aligning with People and business objectives. Lead end-to-end delivery from requirements to post-launch.
  2. Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and develop Business Analysts and Integration Analysts. Establish norms, documentation, and continuous improvement culture.
  3. Hands-On Configuration: Direct Workday HCM optimization across Advanced Compensation, Absence, Talent, Time Tracking, Payroll, and Benefits using business processes, calculated fields, EIB, and reporting.
  4. Governance Excellence: Own change intake, prioritization, release management, design reviews, testing, UAT, and cutovers. Serve as SME for features and releases.
  5. Security & Compliance: Manage security model and access controls. Ensure SOX, GDPR, privacy compliance with full documentation.
  6. Integrations Leadership: Oversee portfolio architecture, monitoring, error handling, and vendor coordination for seamless data flow.
  7. Data Mastery: Drive quality, reconciliation, stewardship. Define and monitor SLAs for resolution excellence.
  8. Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate across HR functions and business units for scalable solutions.
  9. Process Innovation: Champion improvements enabling business decisions and employee delight.
  10. Operational Health: Maintain system reliability, audit readiness, and optimization opportunities.

Qualifications

Must-Have Experience:

  • 10+ years HRIS with 5+ years Workday leadership
  • Proven team management in fast-paced environments
  • Expertise in Workday HCM core and advanced modules
  • Deep integrations experience (Studio, APIs, EIB)
  • Security framework and compliance mastery (SOX/GDPR)
