Role Overview

Cardinal Health is seeking a skilled Part-Time Hospital Pharmacist for our outsourced pharmacy operations at AMG Specialty Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. This role offers 24 hours per week, plus on-call weekend and holiday coverage (facility hours: 8:30AM–5PM Mon-Fri, 9AM–1PM weekends/holidays). As Pharmacist II, you'll ensure safe, compliant medication dispensing in a dynamic hospital setting, supervising technicians, verifying orders, and driving operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

In this critical role, you'll apply expert drug knowledge to optimize patient outcomes:

• Order Verification: Review physician orders via pharmacy information systems, addressing alerts on drugs, doses, and interactions.
• Technician Supervision: Oversee Pharmacy Technicians, ensuring state-compliant operations, automation use, and complex prescription handling.
• Dosage Management: Adjust medications per protocols, considering patient conditions and polypharmacy, while supporting antimicrobial stewardship.
• Patient Education: Counsel on proper use, side effects, and discharge instructions, especially for complex regimens.
• Compliance & Inventory: Handle narcotics documentation, audits, and inventory; assist with accreditation and process improvements.
• Collaboration: Liaise with nurses and physicians for order clarification and care coordination.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel, candidates must meet these standards:

• Active, good-standing Pharmacist license in Indiana (required).
• In-patient hospital experience strongly preferred; IV compounding experience a plus.
• Shift flexibility, including weekends/holidays and on-call.
• Excellent communication: clear hearing, writing, speaking for healthcare interactions.
• Strong customer service, computer proficiency across pharmacy systems.
• Manual dexterity for handling medications; vendor credentialing may apply.
