Role Overview

Cardinal Health seeks a highly motivated Part Time Retail Pharmacist for our company-owned retail contract pharmacy at Howard Brown Community Health Center, located at 641 W. 63rd St., Chicago, IL. This role focuses on delivering medication and pharmaceutical care to communities in need, including immunizations, patient consultations, medication therapy management, and high-risk patient care. Pharmacy hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:00AM-7:00PM; Tuesday 10:00AM-7:00PM; Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM; and every 2nd and 4th Saturday 9:00AM-3:00PM. Key Responsibilities

As a Part Time Retail Pharmacist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe medication delivery and superior patient care. Under direct manager supervision, responsibilities include dispensing medications efficiently, maintaining open lines of communication with customers and practitioners, and supervising technical staff. You will organize technician workflows, verify pharmaceutical preparations, order entries, charges, and inspections. Compliance with 340B best practices is essential, alongside providing expert consultations to patients and prescribers at partner health facilities.

Daily Operations

Expect to handle high-volume dispensing while prioritizing safety and accuracy. Your leadership in staff supervision fosters a collaborative environment, optimizing pharmacy operations for peak efficiency during set hours.

Patient-Centered Care

Deliver immunizations, medication therapy management, and personalized consultations, particularly for specialty areas like HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C, enhancing access and quality of care in underserved populations.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed, candidates need a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (PharmD preferred) and an active Illinois Pharmacist license. Immunization Certification is required, or willingness to certify within 90 days of hire. Strong interpersonal skills, customer service expertise, and schedule flexibility are must-haves. Preferred qualifications include 340B experience and familiarity with specialty drugs. Vendor credentialing may be necessary.
