Role Overview

As the Engineering Manager for the Financial Platform at Perk in Barcelona, you will be a crucial leader responsible for the integrity and scalability of our financial systems. This role demands a seasoned engineering professional with a deep understanding of financial flows, ERP systems, and the importance of auditability. You will lead a team of talented engineers in building a robust and reliable financial bedrock that supports Perk's continued growth.

Your primary focus will be on expanding our product capabilities to handle complex financial operations, ensuring accurate and automated reconciliation and reporting. You will guide the team in disentangling complex business logic from our ERPs, ensuring that all financial transactions are correctly processed and accounted for. Your leadership will foster a culture of pride in building high-quality, auditable code, giving our Finance partners confidence in the accuracy of our financial data.

A Day in the Life

Here’s a glimpse into what your day might look like:

• Morning: Start with a team stand-up to discuss progress, address roadblocks, and align on priorities. Review key performance indicators (KPIs) for the financial platform to identify areas for improvement.
• Mid-day: Meet with the Product Manager to discuss the roadmap for the financial platform, ensuring alignment with the Tribe mission and business objectives. Collaborate on defining technical requirements for upcoming features.
• Afternoon: Conduct one-on-one meetings with your team members to discuss their performance, career development, and any challenges they may be facing. Provide coaching and mentoring to support their growth.
• Later: Participate in a technical design review for a new feature, ensuring that the proposed solution meets the organization's standards for performance, security, and auditability. Collaborate with other engineering managers to share best practices and address cross-functional dependencies.
• End of Day: Review the team's progress against sprint goals, identify any potential risks, and adjust plans as needed. Prepare for upcoming recruitment activities, such as reviewing resumes and conducting interviews.
