Role Overview
As Asset Protection & Safety Business Partner - West, you'll drive strategies to minimize shrink, boost safety compliance, and lead crisis response across your region. Reporting to senior leadership, expect 60%+ travel to stores/distribution centers, periodic Phoenix HQ visits, and remote work from home. Be the proactive influencer embodying PetSmart's mission in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with RVPs and field leaders on asset protection/safety goals.
- Act as Incident Commander for operational disruptions.
- Perform audits, investigations, and hazard assessments.
- Analyze data for actionable insights and training programs.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and cross-functional teams.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3-5+ years in loss prevention/safety (retail preferred), analytical prowess, strong communication, and leadership in multi-unit settings. Degree in related field preferred; P&L experience a plus. Excel in dynamic environments with MS Office proficiency.

- Experience managing P&L results and business plans (experience)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint (experience)
- Ability to travel 60%+ across region and to Phoenix HQ (experience)
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary Asset Protection & Safety partner for districts/stores, supporting RVPs
- Lead as Incident Commander during critical events for swift resolution
- Conduct shrink/safety audits, investigations, and store assessments (60% travel)
- Analyze data to identify trends/risks and drive performance improvements
- Build relationships with law enforcement and deliver team training on best practices
- Collaborate on strategic initiatives and special projects with corporate teams
