Role Overview

The Experience Leader (ELR) provides exceptional leadership to drive the pet parent experience through culture and strategies. You'll share responsibility for team safety, pet welfare, daily operations, and financial results, ensuring our store upholds PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and brand promise.

Key Responsibilities

  • People Leadership: Recruit, interview, hire, coach associates; facilitate development, recognition, training, and succession planning; address complaints and delegate tasks.
  • Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, oversee services (salon, training, hotel, day camp), manage events/marketing, ensure policy compliance, conduct safety walks, and handle pet emergencies.
  • Business Management: Drive sales, control shrink/expenses, optimize labor, leverage resources for work orders, and collaborate on productivity goals.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 3-5 years of retail leadership in customer-focused settings, full-time flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Passion for pets and leadership excellence are key.
