Role Overview

The Experience Leader (ELR) provides exemplary leadership to deliver outstanding pet parent experiences while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. You'll share responsibility for team safety, pet welfare, daily operations, and financial results in our Pelham location. Full-time role requiring schedule flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; manage labor, training, onboarding, and succession planning; address grievances and celebrate achievements.
  • Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, oversee services (salon, training, hotel, day camp), events, adoptions; ensure pet safety and compliance via monthly walks and vet transports if needed.
  • Business Management: Drive sales, control shrink and expenses, optimize scheduling, leverage resources for work orders and P&L goals.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 3-5 years of retail leadership in customer-focused settings, strong communication, computer proficiency, and composure under pressure. Passion for pets and proven ability to inspire teams are essential.
