Role Overview

As a Buyer at PetSmart’s CHO, you’ll shape merchandise strategy, assortment, pricing, and promotions to boost sales and margins. Lead vendor negotiations, manage relationships, and stay ahead of market trends to support merchandising goals in a collaborative, high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage product assortment and specifications to seize sales and margin opportunities.
• Negotiate costs, terms, and logistics as liaison between vendors, supply chain, and stores.
• Build vendor partnerships to secure best prices, products, and promotional plans driven by data.
• Collaborate on product lifecycle, inventory standards, financial planning, and pricing strategies.
• Monitor trends, recommend markdowns, and implement exit strategies for profitability.

Experience & Skills

Require Bachelor’s in Merchandising, Business, Economics or related; 4+ years retail buying experience with cross-functional exposure in pricing, planning, and replenishment. Excel in communication, analytics, negotiation, organization, financial acumen, team leadership, and relationship-building.
