Role Overview

As Buyer, you'll own the omni merchandising strategy for our pet and wild bird assortment, covering bird consumables, care & accessories, environments, and live departments. Lead assortment selection, pricing, promotions, planograms, and customer experience. Build vendor partnerships, drive product innovation with private brands, and mentor one direct report to sustain profit growth and market dominance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage product assortment and specifications to maximize sales and margins.
• Develop trend-based business plans for market leadership.
• Negotiate costs, terms, shipping, and vendor funding.
• Partner with marketing, supply chain, and operations teams.
• Identify promotional products aligned with sales goals.
• Lead team through training, coaching, and mentoring.

Experience & Skills

Bring a Bachelor's in Merchandising, Economics, or Business, plus 3+ years retail buying experience. Be strategic, customer-focused, analytical, with proven sales/margin growth. Excel in communication, negotiation, and influencing senior leaders across functions. Passion for pets and ability to coach early-career talent required.
