Role Overview

PetSmart’s Professional Pet Bather delivers exceptional grooming services, engages pet parents, and upholds safety standards. This entry-level role in our Brenham store involves hands-on pet care, customer interactions, and maintaining a clean salon environment. Ideal for animal lovers seeking flexible, rewarding work with evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete Splash training and safety certification to perform bath/brush services, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary shaves per PetSmart standards.
• Greet pet parents, handle check-in/out, reservations, and consultations in-person or via phone.
• Recommend health/wellness products and services based on pet needs; sell merchandise at register.
• Ensure safe environment for pets, associates, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets by transporting to vet.
• Maintain salon/store cleanliness and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

No prior grooming experience required—training provided. Success demands pet-handling comfort, customer service prowess, computer proficiency, pressure-handling, organizational detail, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, exposure to wet/hairy environments, moderate-high noise, and live animals.
