Role Overview
PetSmart's Professional Pet Bather delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds safety standards. This entry-level role in our Calgary, Alberta store involves hands-on pet care, customer interaction, and maintaining a clean, safe environment amid a dynamic pet retail setting.
Essential Physical Demands
Expect to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle pets in wet/hairy conditions, climb ladders, and work in moderate-to-high noise with live animals. Depth perception and composure under pressure required.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver full bath/brush services per PetSmart standards; greet pet parents, manage reservations/check-ins; recommend wellness solutions; ensure pet safety and transport sick pets if needed; maintain salon/store cleanliness; assist other departments; follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—complete our Splash training. Need computer proficiency, flexible availability (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, strong communication, and ability to stay calm under pressure. Passion for pets is key.
