Role Overview
PetSmart’s Professional Pet Bather delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds safety standards. This entry-level role involves hands-on pet care, customer interactions, and maintaining a clean salon environment in a dynamic retail setting. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential amid moderate noise, wet conditions, pet hair, and lifting up to 50lbs (team lifts over 100lbs).
Key Responsibilities
- Complete Splash training and safety certification to perform full bath/brush, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Handle check-in/out, greet pet parents, answer questions, assist with reservations, and recommend wellness solutions/merchandise.
- Ensure safe environments for pets, associates, and customers; act swiftly on sick/injured pets including vet transport.
- Maintain salon/store cleanliness and support other departments as needed.
- Follow all policies, embracing a culture of recognition and belonging.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—training provided. Ideal candidates demonstrate pet passion, customer focus, composure under pressure, organizational prowess, and communication skills. Physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and lifting; exposure to animals, water, and noise is routine. Computer proficiency supports bookings and sales.
