Role Overview
As a Pet Bather in our Harvey, Louisiana salon, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, delivering positive experiences through expert bathing services. Uphold PetSmart’s vision while sharing responsibility for store cleanliness, pet safety, and wellness recommendations. This entry-level role offers flexibility and growth in pet retail.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), work in wet environments with pet hair and moderate noise. Exposure to live animals is common; reasonable accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete Splash training and safety certification.
- Perform full bath/brush, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per standards.
- Handle check-in/out, greet pet parents, manage reservations.
- Ensure safe environment; act on sick/injured pets.
- Recommend merchandise/services; maintain cleanliness; assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—training provided. Ideal candidates have pet passion, customer service skills, computer proficiency, pressure-handling ability, flexible scheduling, organizational detail, and strong communication. Follow all policies for success.
