Role Overview

PetSmart’s Professional Pet Bather delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds safety standards. This entry-level role in our Lafayette store involves hands-on pet care, customer interactions, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment amid a dynamic pet retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Master PetSmart’s Splash training for safe bathing procedures.
• Execute full bath/brush services, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per company standards.
• Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, and consultations with pet parents.
• Promote wellness solutions, merchandise, and services based on pet needs.
• Ensure safety for pets, associates, and customers; respond to emergencies like sick pets.
• Maintain salon/store cleanliness and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

No prior grooming experience required—training provided. Ideal candidates bring pet passion, customer service savvy, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, bending, and working in wet, noisy environments with animals.
