Role Overview
As a Pet Bather in our Oswego, NY location, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering salon services while upholding PetSmart’s vision, mission, values, and safety standards. Share store cleanliness duties, recommend solutions, and ensure positive experiences in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), stoop, kneel, reach. Exposed to wet environments, pet hair, moderate-to-high noise, moving parts, and live animals. Depth perception required; reasonable accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete Splash training and safety certification.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, greet pet parents, answer questions.
- Independently perform bath/brush services, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care per standards.
- Recommend health/wellness solutions and sell merchandise/services.
- Maintain cleanliness; assist other departments; follow policies.
- Ensure safe environment; transport sick/injured pets to vet as needed.
Experience & Skills
Entry-level role requiring computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety/detail, and strong communication. Passion for pets preferred; training provided.
