Role Overview

PetSmart’s Professional Pet Bather delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds safety standards. This entry-level role in our Ottawa, Ontario location involves hands-on pet care, customer interactions, and maintaining a clean, safe environment amid a dynamic retail setting with live animals.

Essential Physical Demands

Expect to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), stoop, kneel, and work in wet, pet hair-filled areas with moderate to high noise. Depth perception required; reasonable accommodations available.

Key Responsibilities

Core duties include completing Splash training, performing full bath/brush menus independently, handling check-ins/outs/reservations, recommending wellness solutions, ensuring pet safety (including vet transport), maintaining cleanliness, selling services/merchandise, and assisting other departments while fostering a culture of belonging.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—training provided. Ideal candidates demonstrate pet passion, customer service prowess, organizational skills, communication abilities, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), and computer proficiency. Strong attention to safety and detail essential.
