Role Overview
PetSmart's Professional Pet Bather delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds safety standards. This entry-level role in our Peterborough store involves hands-on pet care, customer interaction, and maintaining a clean, safe environment amid a dynamic pet retail setting.
Essential Physical Demands
Expect to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift over 100 lbs), stoop, kneel, and work in wet, noisy conditions with live animals. Depth perception and composure under pressure are key.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete Splash training and perform full bath/brush services independently.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, and pet parent consultations.
- Identify sick/injured pets and coordinate vet transport.
- Maintain salon/store cleanliness and recommend products/services.
- Participate in Belonging culture and assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—training provided. Ideal candidates have computer proficiency, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, strong organization, attention to safety, and excellent communication. Passion for pets is essential.
