Role Overview
As a Pet Bather in our Rensselaer, NY location, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, delivering salon services while upholding PetSmart’s vision, mission, values, and safety standards. Share responsibility for store cleanliness and recommend wellness solutions. This entry-level role offers flexibility and growth in a pet-loving environment.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), work in wet/hairy conditions with moderate to high noise. Exposure to live animals is common. Reasonable accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete Splash training and safety certification.
- Perform full menu of bath/brush, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage check-in/out, reservations, and consultations.
- Ensure safe environment; act on sick/injured pets, transport to vet as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness, recommend/sell merchandise/services, assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—training provided. Seeking proficiency in computers, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety/detail, and strong communication. Passion for pets a must!
