Role Overview
As a Pet Bather in our Riverhead salon, you'll deliver exceptional grooming services, engage pet parents, and uphold safety standards. This entry-level role offers hands-on pet care experience with full training provided via PetSmart’s Splash program.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform bath/brush services, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary shaves per company standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage reservations, check-in/out procedures, and recommend wellness solutions.
- Maintain salon/store cleanliness and ensure a safe environment for pets, associates, and customers.
- Identify and act on sick/injured pets, transporting to vet if needed; assist other departments as required.
- Follow all policies, participate in recognition culture, and sell merchandise/services.
Experience & Skills
No prior grooming experience required—training provided. Ideal candidates have pet-handling comfort, customer service skills, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a wet, pet-hair-filled environment with moderate noise.
