Role Overview

PetSmart’s Professional Pet Bather delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and maintains safety standards. This entry-level role involves hands-on pet care, customer interaction, and store support in a dynamic retail environment with live animals, moderate noise, and physical demands like lifting 50+ lbs.

Essential Physical Demands

Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), work in wet/hairy conditions, and handle pets safely. Depth perception required; reasonable accommodations available.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete Splash training and safety certification.
• Perform full bath/brush, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services per standards.
• Greet pet parents, manage reservations, check-in/out procedures.
• Recommend wellness solutions, sell merchandise/services.
• Maintain store cleanliness, ensure pet safety, transport sick pets to vet if needed.
• Assist other departments and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—training provided. Ideal candidates have pet passion, customer service skills, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, organizational detail, and strong communication. Thrive in fast-paced settings with evenings, weekends, holidays.
