Role Overview
PetSmart’s Professional Pet Bather delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and maintains a safe, clean environment. This entry-level role involves hands-on pet care, customer interaction, and upholding company standards in a dynamic retail setting with live animals, moderate noise, and physical demands like lifting up to 50lbs.
Essential Physical Demands
Expect standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and frequent lifting. Exposure to wet environments, pet hair, and mechanical parts is common. Depth perception and team lifting over 100lbs required.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete Splash training and safety certification.
- Perform independent bath/brush, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Handle check-in/out, greet pet parents, answer questions, and manage reservations.
- Identify and address sick/injured pets, transporting to vet if needed.
- Maintain store cleanliness, recommend solutions, and sell merchandise/services.
- Assist other departments and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—training provided. Ideal candidates have computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety/detail, and strong communication. Passion for pets is essential.
