Role Overview
PetSmart's Professional Pet Bather delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds safety standards. This entry-level role involves hands-on pet care, customer interactions, and store support in a dynamic retail environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
Essential Physical Demands
Expect to stand, walk, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle pets in wet/hairy conditions, climb ladders, and work amid moderate-to-high noise with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete Splash training and perform full bath/brush, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage check-in/out, reservations, and recommend wellness solutions/merchandise.
- Ensure safe environments; act on sick/injured pets by transporting to vet.
- Maintain salon/store cleanliness and assist other departments as needed.
- Follow all policies, embracing Belonging and Recognition culture.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—training provided. Ideal candidates have pet passion, computer proficiency, pressure-handling composure, organizational detail-orientation, and strong communication. Depth perception and physical stamina are key.
