Role Overview
PetSmart's Professional Pet Bather delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds safety standards. This entry-level role involves hands-on pet care, customer interactions, and store support in a dynamic retail environment with live animals, moderate noise, and physical demands like lifting 50+ lbs.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete Splash training and perform full bath/brush, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Greet pet parents, handle check-in/out, reservations, and recommend wellness solutions/merchandise.
- Maintain salon/store cleanliness and ensure safe environments for pets, associates, and customers.
- Identify and act on sick/injured pets, transporting to vets as needed; assist other departments.
- Follow all policies, participate in Belonging culture, and deliver positive pet parent experiences.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—training provided. Ideal candidates have pet passion, computer proficiency, pressure-handling ability, flexible scheduling, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include standing, lifting 50-100 lbs, working in wet/hairy environments with animals.
