Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service, salon operations, and pet safety in a fast-paced retail environment. Full-time position with flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs, recommend services/products to boost sales targets.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, client records.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance.
- Monitor pet health, take immediate action for sick/injured animals, assist other store departments.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, strong organization, attention to safety, and superior communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, exposure to wet/hair-filled environments and moderate-high noise with live animals.
