Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role upholds our vision of best-in-class grooming while maintaining salon cleanliness, safety, and sales goals in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend services/merchandise to boost sales and pet health.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and client records for seamless experiences.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Respond to pet emergencies, assist other departments, and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet-filled environment.
