Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) at our Amsterdam, NY location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional customer experiences. This role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon management, and sales growth in a dynamic pet retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards, including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care.
• Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales through recommendations.
• Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and respond to pet health issues by coordinating vet transport if needed.
• Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, client records, and promote rebooking to meet sales targets.
• Assist other departments and follow all company policies.

Experience & Skills

Seeking groomers with prior experience or completion of PetSmart's Salon Academy training. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise and wetness.
