Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards, including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents to recommend wellness solutions and upsell services/merchandise to meet sales goals.
- Handle check-ins, check-outs, reservations, reminder calls, and client records with precision.
- Maintain impeccable salon sanitation, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Respond swiftly to pet health issues, assist other departments, and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Salon Academy training and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational prowess, and strong communication skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in a pet-filled, sometimes noisy/wet environment.
