Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This full-time role in Ancaster offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities to advance through PetSmart's development programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming services: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness solutions, and sell merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
- Manage pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Monitor pet health; transport sick/injured pets to vet as needed and assist other store departments.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Salon Academy with safety certification. Must have computer proficiency, strong communication/organizational skills, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, stand for shifts, and work in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise and wet conditions. Flexibility for variable scheduling essential.
