Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Ankeny, Iowa location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness and contribute to store success through sales and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
• Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
• Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and client records; greet and assist pet parents in-person and via phone.
• Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and respond to sick/injured pets by transporting to vet if needed.
• Flexibly assist other departments, follow policies, and foster a culture of recognition and belonging.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Need computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
