Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service, salon management, and pet safety oversight in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services like bathing, brushing, nail trims, and teeth brushing per company standards.
- Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness products, and drive salon sales.
- Handle check-in/out procedures, reservations, client records, and reminder communications.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health emergencies.
- Collaborate across departments and promote PetSmart's culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program and Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, organizational prowess, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in a pet-filled environment.
