Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role upholds our vision of pet health, safety, and satisfaction while driving salon success through expert grooming and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend solutions, and promote merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and client records.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues including vet transport.
- Collaborate across departments, follow policies, and contribute to store metrics.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in pet-heavy environments.
