Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role upholds PetSmart's vision of superior pet care, salon cleanliness, and safety while driving sales and client satisfaction in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards, including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on health solutions, recommend services, and upsell merchandise to meet sales goals.
- Handle check-ins, check-outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Ensure salon sanitation, pet safety, and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues immediately.
- Assist other departments and participate in team recognition initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program and Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet-heavy, noisy environments.
