Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring pet health, safety, and satisfaction. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. Full-time position with flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend services/products to boost health and sales.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, perform daily/end-of-day maintenance, ensure humane pet conditions.
- Monitor pet health; transport sick/injured pets to vet as needed. Assist other departments when required.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet-filled, sometimes noisy/wet environment.
