Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon management, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment. Located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, you'll contribute to our store's success while upholding pet health, safety, and cleanliness standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, and teeth brushing per company protocols.
• Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness products, and drive salon sales targets.
• Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
• Ensure salon sanitation through daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning checklists.
• Monitor pet well-being, respond to emergencies by transporting to vets if needed, and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates have prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion. Proficiency in computers, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, strong organization, communication, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet hair-filled environments.
