Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. This role upholds PetSmart's vision through expert grooming, salon maintenance, and sales growth while prioritizing pet health, safety, and salon sanitation.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and client records; greet and assist pet parents in-person and via phone.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance and respond to pet health issues.
- Flexibly assist other departments, follow policies, and contribute to a culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion/certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair/wet environment with moderate-high noise and live animal exposure.
