Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensures pet health and safety, and builds lasting relationships with pet parents. Based in Bellingham, Massachusetts, this role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service to drive salon success and pet well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs, recommend solutions, and upsell services/merchandise to meet sales goals.
- Manage pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Uphold salon cleanliness via daily maintenance checklists and ensure humane conditions for all pets.
- Monitor pet health; transport sick/injured pets to vets and assist store-wide as needed.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
