Role Overview
PetSmart’s Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds pet health, safety, and cleanliness standards. This dynamic role combines hands-on grooming expertise with exceptional customer service to drive salon success and positive pet experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage appointments, and promote sales to meet targets.
- Maintain salon sanitation via daily checklists and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and immediate action for sick/injured pets.
- Assist other departments and participate in team culture initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet-filled environment.
