Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional grooming services while ensuring pet health, safety, and outstanding customer experiences. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement in a fast-paced retail environment. You'll work independently to provide bath, brush, and specialty services, recommend wellness solutions, and maintain salon standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards, including nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend products/services, and drive salon sales targets.
- Handle check-in/out procedures, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Ensure salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions through daily maintenance.
- Respond to pet health issues, assist other departments, and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program with Salon Academy certification. Strong organizational skills, attention to safety, and flexibility for evenings/weekends essential. Proficiency in computers, composure under pressure, and excellent communication needed. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet-filled environment.
